Lucifer (asteroid 1930) has become an important part of my work over the years. I first heard it mentioned in astrology circles at a conference in 2005, when someone in a Q&A asked evolutionary astrologer Jeffrey Wolf Green about Lucifer and evil. The question was coming from the kind of fear that many have after stewing in patriarchal nonsense for thousands of years. My intuitive ears perked up and I had to look this up in my chart. When I went home, I found that it’s within a degree of my Scorpio Sun.
I suddenly understood myself in a new way. Always had I been afraid to really be a Scorpio, and also stand up for my own values (that Sun’s in my 2nd house). As a result, my self-confidence was always in doubt and I wasn’t telling the truth to myself or others nearly as much as felt right. No one had ever guessed that I’m a Scorpio. I’d emphasized my Libra and Sagittarius stellia to avoid being disliked for being harsh and other negative Scorpio stereotypes. Lucifer by default often comes out as doubt that we should believe in or trust ourselves, and I had been doubting everything about me to try not to appear selfish, one of the worst things Judeo-Christian people can do.
But the Lucifer story as it comes down to us through culture and religion is a teaching tool to inspire fear in us not to trust ourselves. Using it, we’re to be the kind of people that Christian thinkers and scriptures expect. Well, I can’t do that, and I can’t teach a story that’s about fearing any part of the self, the basis of patriarchy.
I began doing a ton of reading about what many said about it, intuitively sorting through quite a lot of noise about our fears about evil to identify an archetypal process. Now I teach clients and students how to bring light on a regular basis, and in October this teaching will be widely available.
What happens when we get the Lucifer story and move beyond cultural conditioning and culture-inspired fear is that we tap into a critical part of our divine nature. We own what we love, we love ourselves, and we align a well-developed and grounded ego with heart and spirit. This results in a divinely-sourced desire to be of service and bring love, or light.

The webinar is in 2 parts:
- October 12th will be lecture-style, with me laying out the difference between myth (which teaches you to fear evil) and archetype (which is about the process of developing ego and aligning it to be of service, thereby bringing light, the meaning of the name). - October 19th will be a small-group 90-minute class you can opt into if you’ve seen the video or been in the class the week prior. We will get into your chart in-depth, making the bringing-light story come to life. I’ll discuss your natal configuration and we’ll discuss the role of this archetype in your life. This will cost $25.
