The Venus Deal: Sun-Saturn-Mercury in Libra & Venus stationing retro in Scorpio

Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries.
Fairness, fairness, fairness.
Listening, listening, listening.

Whatever you’re dealing with re Venus, you’re dealing with it in threes. Or sevens, or maybe in nine dozens. Whatever Venus thing you are supposed to be learning now, you are getting tons of opportunities to do so.

Three planets are in Libra, one of Venus’ signs, now.
The transiting Sun shines a light on issues related to the sign it is in, so the big solar flashlight this month is on what is fair, whom you rely on for what and why, who is and who is not listening to you, and what you do and don’t do for others.
Transiting Mercury brings our left brains, our conscious attention and analytical skills, to wherever it is. It also brings a need to communicate about life issues of the sign it transits and adopts a style of communicating informed directly by the sign it is in. In Libra, it’s all about fairness, equality, justice, and the balance we are always fine tuning within our social relationships.
Transiting Saturn asks us to grow up, get more realistic about and become willing to do some hard work to improve or trim from our lives stuff related to the sign it’s in. In Libra there is a call to get real and do hard work about relationships.

Look at your interactions and realistically assess a few things. Are you trying to get heard by people who can’t hear you? Are you trying to find someone who will tell you what you want to hear about something? Are you coming up with things to say to people that you really need to say? Are you becoming clear that certain kinds of relationships – or certain relationships – just don’t work for you?

These three planets in Libra say that the best possible response to all relationship issues is to be forthright and open. To correct any Libran imbalances from the past – to finally get on the same page. The best thing you can do for yourself is to not just be honest with others, but be honest with yourself first. Talk about what is going on and move into the future with an honest dialogue, even if that means two people’s futures diverge because of it.

There will be situations in which a part of you desires to tell someone something with the hopes of being validated by that person for something, in some way. To be acknowledged, or perhaps praised, or perhaps just accepted. Chances are during these transits that you won’t be validated by those people, or you will be but it will feel hollow. In these cases you have the invitation to learn more about why you are trying to get what you are trying to get. Look into your deeper motivation. Whatever you find there, ok. Don’t judge it. Let it be what it is. And understand that a potent lesson with an emphasis in Libra always presents the opportunity to learn to meet our needs ourselves. Other people reflect to us what we seek, what energy we carry, and often what we are not sure how to do for ourselves that we probably need to learn to do. But what we do is, we actually think others should give us the thing we’re asking for. (Who do we think we are? Who do we think they are?) Yet the truth behind your relationships is that they are not there to provide you with things – validation, respect, love, acceptance. They are there to present reflection to you about who you are, what you need, and how you can learn more levels of self-sufficiency and self-love.

There will be other situations in your life in which a part of you is clear you do not want to relate to someone. Assess realistically and without judgment what your motivation is. Is it to keep out of your field or consciousness a valuable teacher, a person with a message that could really support you in your evolution? Or is it to keep out of your life a relationship dynamic that you are clear is not healthy for you? You are the only judge…but you have to engage in a process of realistic self-appraisal to find out. Listen to the inner you, your inner voice, your own personal inner wisdom. Act from that part of you, in your own best interests.

There are other possibilities, of course, where Libran terrain will be challenged in your life. I’ve been experiencing a couple of each of the above situations, so those two possibilities are fresh in my mind. I’ve been becoming super clear of what I will not experience when it comes to other people, what they are trying to bring me (whether they are conscious of it or not) that I am not going to experience. Just as clear as can be – “dynamic x does not work for me.” Saturn is transiting my natal Venus in Libra in the 12th house now, so what I am learning is coming up from the depths – the hidden places of the 12th house. But I’m trusting my inner radar that’s tuned to what feels out of balance and unhealthy, and saying “no thanks” when it comes to me.

Take a few minutes and look at where you are in your relationships. The most important ones, sure, but also the ones that are more casual. Because these people and the dynamics you have with them are unique, each can show you something valuable about yourself, where you are in your Libran learning, and how you can evolve by learning to meet your own needs for validation and healthy boundaries better.

The earth game that each of us humans is playing is all about learning about love. What it is, where it comes from, who is responsible for loving us. The end game is that we learn to love ourselves first and especially in all the ways in which we feel that others do not love us. Take the opportunity while these three are transiting Libra to gain more insight into what you need to see about yourself, and what you can do to advance in your quest to learn about love.

Oh, that felt like the end. I got entirely distracted. I wanted the end to be about how these three planets are ruled by Venus, which is slowing down in Scorpio, preparing for her retrograde cycle. These three bodies essentially are informed by Scorpio therefore, so when you are looking at what doesn’t work in your relationships, choose utter honesty and directness – don’t fall into some Scorpio power struggle nonsense. When you are not giving the other person what he or she needs, don’t get attached if he or she demands it or won’t go away. Just walk away from it. And if you are not getting what you believe you need, choose not to make demands or get more intense about how much you want it. Just let it go – after being fully honest, each person can decide how to respond.

Contrary to the stereotypes, we have options about how we do Scorpio. Choose honesty and absolute openness, and be ready to receive reflection about some of your unconscious motivations. Venus stationing can make our perceived needs more intense – it can seem to raise the stakes that the other person engage with us in the way are asking.

The Venus retro through Scorpio will be covered in another post soon.
