The Pluto Square for Pluto in Libra People

Saturday, July 17th, 2010 | Astrology, Pluto | No Comments

Those with Pluto 0 to 7 degrees of Libra (born 1972-early 1974) should be dealing these days with questions like these. At the soul level they are learning about fairness, balance, equality, justice, and harmony, and often through relationships with others. We all learn this but this group is at the soul level majoring in it.

Qs for them:

Who are you when no one else is around?

Who are you if no one wants to know who you are?

Have you for whatever reason become a chameleon? Can you see how this has created your relationships?

What in how you relate to others is ready to shift? What about this chameleon self is ready to be left behind?

Saturn Heads Back Into Libra: Meeting the Other

Saturday, July 17th, 2010 | Astrology | No Comments

Saturn’s close to re-entering Libra – it’s a few days off. Here’s a handful of previous posts and articles on Saturn in Libra from me, to get a feel for what I’m thinking about this transit: Saturn in Libra, Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn, and the retro.

Virgo as a way of doing things is about a lot of things including specificity, improving things, and gaining an uncompromisingly realistic view of what is going on and how it can work better. In the natural zodiac Libra follows it, with Libra being the way of doing things that works with others. At its best it understands the value of compromise and seeks to create balance and harmony, most notably with others.

The shift from Virgo to Libra always has us taking what we’ve been working on by ourselves into the realm of other people. It is where we first show others what we’ve been up to for as long as we’ve been Virgoing on whatever project or idea has been on our plates. When we hit Libra it’s also time to listen to others, to take in advice and counsel from those who might be able to help us or with whom we can join forces to achieve a goal.

As Saturn’s been transiting Virgo your attention has been put on what does and what does not work in how you do things. You’ve been working on improving things on your own, whether health, work/methods, organizational – um – “prowess”, and how it is that you serve others and the world around you. Perhaps this process lead you to a new sense of humility, bringing you able to see in what ways you are not actually perfect (because no one is; there is no such thing – major Virgo medicine, by the way) and getting clear on how and why you might want to improve certain things anyway. › Continue reading

Solar Eclipse in Cancer, Briefly Part II

Sunday, July 11th, 2010 | Astrology, Karma, Lunations | 4 Comments

I did a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and was in my head for most of my life. I just met someone who did a PhD in the subject. She asked me how I got to Tucson. I told her that I asked my spirit guides where I could go to write the books I was thinking of writing but didn’t have the inner space to write.

She said immediately, “Oh I don’t believe in that.” I said, “It doesn’t matter if you believe it,” a little perplexed at the pat answer.

But I got the reflection of how I used to be. The eclipse was on my South Node in the 10th house, and I have a past in this life and others being really stuck in my head. Deciding with Capricornian/10th house certainty what I believe is true without having experienced much of anything directly. The Capricorn archetype is a lot about fashioning the world around it in terms of the shoulds it believes should be true.

I saw myself as I am now, in contrast to the academic. Let’s just say that I’m really glad I knew in college that philosophy couldn’t in fact answer all of my questions and didn’t pursue it further. And then after a few years of a kind of limbo I had the world as it really is, and I as I really am, shown to me. And this way of being is unbelievably more cool than stressing with the mind about how the world should be, and how I should be.

The more we live in our heads the more we try to create the world around us as we think it should be. The more we miss what is actually happening.

The more we fail to notice the truth of who we are.

Most of the people in our world are stuck in their heads. It’s what we train each other to do.

But it isn’t enough. It’s just not who we are anymore. Or who we are becoming. We’re spiritual beings with awesome minds – let’s let our minds work with the rest of us instead of letting them run everything. You will never get where your soul is trying to go by staying inside your head!

The Solar Eclipse in Cancer, Briefly

Sunday, July 11th, 2010 | Astrology | No Comments

I am sitting in a coffee shop where I write, working on a writing piece on the Pluto Square for the Libra and Scorpio generations.

When I realized the eclipse is coming up I decided to take a few minutes to meditate, letting all the noise around me slip into the background. This eclipse is in my 10th house on my South Node and square my 1st house Uranus-Mars, so who knows how this will want to manifest! I thought I’d cultivate some openness by getting out of the way.

When I opened my eyes, a few minutes before the eclipse, three people asked me questions. They seemed to be lined up.

Cancer/10th house energy can come out as helping others, as showing up in the world as someone who helps others. Who takes care of others. And for a minute I was in great demand for a few little things. Conjunct my South Node, we can know that my soul has some lives under its belt of some kind of public service. My work now does fit that symbolism, but for a minute it was focused on something other than work – I was surrounded by people I could give answers to.

What house was the eclipse in for you? Where do you help others? In what part of life do you approach things and people through an emotional lens?

But the real questions with this eclipse have to do with what new beginnings re that part of life it is time for you to make. What about your existing patterns work? What doesn’t?

We live usually with the input of the Sun and Moon together, having an ongoing and evolving dialogue between reason and feeling. During an eclipse one voice or influence is lessened, leaving us with the other emphasized. I often experience it as the volume turned up – usually two voices are influencing everything and now one is quieter or not audible. With the Sun eclipsed Moon is left. We are left to feel into the moment, to get to know what it is that we need in that moment.

Because we are talking about Moon and the sign of Cancer, this can be about your home, family relationships, what you eat when and why, and other things. The energy of the new moon can support you in beginning new patterns that serve your health and well-being. Tap into the feeling of what you need to do to let your monkey mind chill out for a bit and you’ll get what this new moon eclipse is inviting you to do.
