Maybe you’ve been revamping to-do lists to reflect new thoughts or insights about what needs to be/get done. It also works within relationship, the other side of Venus. Actually, that other side is how we relate more than the people we relate with – they are reflections of our relating style and issues. It’s how we seek to create fairness, harmony, and balance in all areas of life, with relationships with others being the primary vehicles for all of us to learn how to create those things.

In general, Venus’s retros are good for rethinking what’s important and how fairness and equality are working in your life. When it comes to the latter, it can be easy to see others as causing your relationships to function as they do. This retro period is especially important for seeing the truth about how your relationships function and why because it’s taking place in the sign of openness, curiosity, communication, exploration, and making mental connections. Gemini is the part of the zodiac in which we take in new data and make mental connections that – if we let them – can change us.

Newness is a key for Gemini. As you review what’s important and how equality and fairness function in your world during this retro, keep in mind that new information is critical to solving whatever seems problematic. Talking and asking and answering questions here is huge. Also important is remaining open to finding new info and being willing to be changed by it. As the mutable air sign, we do Gemini best when we leave ourselves open to learn and let our perspectives be shaped by a world that, frankly, is filled to the brim with sensory and intellectual information that we’ve never encountered before.

Saturn is still retrograde in Libra, one of Venus’s signs. For a handful of months we’ve been tasked with getting real about how our relationships and relating styles are working and where they get us. We’ve been challenged to roll up our sleeves and look with open eyes at what we want from and expect of our relationships and partners of all kinds. At times we’ve seen that what we want and expect isn’t quite fair to others and, perhaps, that we need to learn to take care of certain things for ourselves that we’ve been holding out (sometimes impatiently) for others to do for us. Saturn’s retro here is all about taking responsibility for how our relationships are going.

If we’re at a loss to make progress in these arenas now, Venus in Gemini as an adviser to that Saturn retro in Libra offers  solutions: new info, new ideas, new experiences, new angles, new perspectives, new data, new awareness, new responses.

Venus stationing retrograde in trine to Saturn retroing in Venus’s sign Libra offers the opportunity to bring to a halt certain patterns of thought and communication. When it comes down to it, how your relationships function (and don’t) has everything to do with your thought processes based in expectations of and desires re others and the communication patterns that arise as a result of you believing your thought processes to be true. Venus’s retro in Gemini is the antidote to beliefs you may carry about relationships in that the Gemini way is to change how things work, open up, see the objective truth, and then plot a course change that can serve the needs of the moment.

Flexibility in thought and communication and a willingness to listen to others and see the truth of what’s happening are important tools for this retro.

Saturn will station direct about two days before Venus. This will keep them not in Ptolemaic aspect but in philosophical collusion about the right ways to address relationship issues and move through them with ease and grace.

For the Taurus side of Venus, there is a note to share about how things appear and feel, sensory-wise. Beauty, attractiveness, comfort, and your general sense of groundedness and stability are also going to be affected by Venus’s retrograde invitations to rethink, review, and revisit. You might find yourself wanting to redecorate yourself or your surroundings and you might have encountered warnings not to get your hair cut or buy clothes during this time. The truth is that your perceptions about attractiveness and comfort might be a bit tweaked during the retro. I don’t advise you avoid Venusian things but recognize that when you are drawn to change something, remember that you are now supposed to try some new expressions and sensations on for size. Whatever you want to change when it comes to the sensory or sensual side of Venus would be good to explore as a way of changing up what you’ve done and experienced so far.

Perhaps you’ll find it best not to make final decisions but to explore them – in the spirit of letting Venus’s retro in the sign of new! new! new! – will be important. If you don’t open to new ideas and versions of your sensory and sensual expression, how can you know what might work better for you than what you’ve been doing for years? Take Venus in Gemini as the kind of adviser who brings back excitement to your world even if you’re not ready to commit to anything in the short term. That’s a classic Gemini thing as well as classic retrograde thing – more information might be needed, so best not to pick one expression and commit.

The choices you make are based in your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and intentions.  Today I am putting your attention on your intentions and how they flow out from you.  This is a way of saying how you volunteer your energy to participate in the activity that creates your life.  You are constantly putting forth energy to create, even when you are not aware of it.  Having a thought is what it is but entertaining it establishes its vibration as a creative edict.  Thoughts may pass over and through your mind all the time and this natural.  Yet when you focus on one, you adopt its vibration as your Divine command.  Focusing can be the result of a belief that you carry and so you must be very intentional about what you permit to be true in your life and world.

The energies that you run in the form of thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and feelings determine your experience.  Separately, there is the issue of how you react to them.  If you can pull back from your reactions to what comes to you in your life – experiences, relationships, situations, etc. – then you will be able to see into the belief or thought that has drawn what has come to you.  In other words, you create a dynamic because of a belief you carry and then you react to the manifestation, leaving you many times unable to feel, see, and sense clearly into why it has come to you in the first place.  To your human eyes it will look like something is happening to you and you will not feel clear enough to see the situation through your spiritual eyes, which is how you can get to the bottom of anything that is happening in your sphere.

Your volition creates your world.  Your intention creates your experience.  What are you intending?  What energies are you bringing forth to create your world?  What thoughts are you vibrating into creation?

Then ask yourself what is truly in your heart to create.

You will need to make a commitment to letting go of thought, feeling, and belief patterns that vibrate unloving relationships, situations, and dynamics into creation.  There are parts of you carrying those patterns because of a sense of having been hurt and those notions are the only things that have seemed to explain why the pain has come to you.  Surrender the need to assign meaning to the pain you experience and accept that pain is one emotion and that it is a necessary part of you knowing yourself as a human, which is why you incarnated in the first place.  Upon doing this you will free yourself to manifest love in all its forms in your life and world – you free yourself to manifest what is in your heart in the world around you.

Ascended Master Djehuty is a timeless being who hangs around Earth to support us in our evolution, whatever that means and looks like. Mars is the planet of beginning things and reflects what we are passionate about. It has been seeming to move backward in the sign of detail-oriented work, dotting “I”s and crossing “T”s, taking responsibility, and making things better. All efforts to begin new projects or flow and run with the spirit of instinctive inspiration since January have been colored by the need to make sure that what is focused on and begun is useful. Mars energy does not think and deliberate and yet it has been traveling in the sign of meticulous analysis and attention to detail, a sign that requires that we do a great deal of planning before spending time doing things. If it’s not done right, Virgo advises, it’s not worth wasting the time.

Virgo is also a sign through which we seek to develop humility but if we refuse while living in Virgo times to do so we can find ourselves in situations and relationships that cause us to feel humiliated. Such a vast gap exists between the two, and our experience of Virgo can in part rest upon our openness to choose humility. It means to choose to sublimate some ego drives in the service of something or someone, which Mars on its own is not always entirely sure how to do.

We have over the last few months had the opportunity to see that our normal inspirations and motivations might not be as useful as we’d end up liking them to be. Marsy stuff that has not panned out during this retrograde period should be seen through the lens of Virgoan practicality and usefulness: if it has not flown, it’s better if it hasn’t. This is good because we need to be made aware periodically of the behind-the-scenes goings on of our desire natures and action functions, two aspects of Mars energy, and we cannot always see that if we feel free to do whatever our little (Marsy) hearts desire.

And now Pluto is retrograde for its annual 5-month course-correction opportunity. That these two are in trine when stationing in different directions stirs a dialogue between what we think we want (Mars) and what we truly want and deeply need (Pluto). Mars also represents what you are conscious of what you would if your survival were threatened while Pluto is what you are not conscious of. Therefore Mars contains our defensive strategies while Pluto carries our survival instinct. There is a difference in intensity between the two though they are kind of in the same ballpark when it comes to how we interact in situations and relationships with the two.

Each is in an Earth sign, asking us to be practical. Virgo is about checking details and facts while Capricorn is about slowing down to make sure what’s done is useful in the long term. And so desires and the passions that feed you have been in need of observation and review from two angles: Mars retro in Virgo has asked you to check your unchecked desires at the door and Pluto now retro in Capricorn asks you to feel and sense deeply into reality of the structures in your life and what you are doing to empower yourself to get done what is most important and necessary for you to experience.

We look at trines as supportive. I like to think that they are at least on some level speaking the same language. Mars in its slowness (re the station direct the other day and its current slow rate of motion) prevents fires from being lit. Pluto in its slowness (re the station retrograde and beginning of apparently backward motion) prevents outer behaviors and strategies of conscious minds that are not truly relevant and needed from being seeded or maintained. Mars wants us to do while Pluto wants us to be real.

Because these are in Earth signs and relate to passions that arise in our physical bodies, check in with yours. The body is always talking to you but if you are like most people your openness to hearing it varies over time. These two stations and the passing dialogue in Earth signs created as a result can give you more insight into how your life experience is being played out in your body.

Look at any normal/regular actions you have felt you cannot perform or initiate lately. See that as Mars in Virgo trying to get you to evaluate the usefulness of them. Then look at if you have felt disempowered as a result of not being or feeling able to do them. Take that to be Pluto asking you to become aware of how your normal routines and reactions to things in fact can (sometimes or perhaps often) disempower you in ways that you have not yet seen clearly.

How do you respond to the need to develop healthy boundaries in relationship (i.e., the need stand up for yourself in general)? How do you respond to argumentativeness or aggression directed at you? What about to the need your body has to exercise or express its natural physical drives, including sexuality? What does your body ask you to do first thing in the morning versus what you actually do first thing in the morning?

Perhaps something in there regarding your normal/regular relationship with your body has been up for review in the form of you feeling the need to stop doing something old or start doing something new (or, of course, both). Mars and Pluto could be said to be conspiring to nudge you to see this by seeming to insert some blocks, detours, or diversions into how you instinctively respond to inner and outer Martian stimulation in your life. Because of the order of events – that in the same week Mars went direct and Pluto went retro – let all of this lead to conscious awareness of how your routines might leave you feeling less than strong, confident, robust, and feeling good about yourself. Take the cues to take more responsibility for a volitional/intentional and useful expression of Mars (as it’s now direct in Virgo) so that you can empower yourself to come into better and more relevant models and habits of self-care for the long-term (Pluto in Capricorn).

The book is about the diminishment of the natural feminine in all its forms, including women, and my colleague came across Djehuty’s invitation to heal from thousands of years of sexual violence. In the book he discusses why the patriarchy exists – why we as a species and therefore as All That Is  created it – and he instructs us about how to heal the millennia of sexual violence humans have experienced as a result of this power over-power under way of living. He points out that as energetic beings with consciousnesses that exist across time (the way past-life memories can surface in any given life), anyone who has experienced sexual violence in one life is carrying that vibration and frequency – and the feelings and beliefs that go with it – in this life.

For me, the bravery was in becoming comfortable channeling that information – becoming willing to hold the realities of those experiences in my conscious awareness for months in order to bring the teaching through. By the time the book was published and I was on tour, I didn’t think it was brave – it was just a part of what I was doing and teaching. I had fully woken up to the reality of sexual violence and its effects on people after being partially attuned to it for a very long time but hoping to keep some of it out of my awareness so I wouldn’t have to feel the pain of others and my own. Since beginning my evolutionary astrology and channeling practice in 2004, I’ve drawn a number of people – both men and women – who have experienced sexual violence in one form or another. I have specialized in the archetype of Lilith almost all that time and when we live her stories as our own, we explore autonomy, fairness, and equality in relationship as well as sexual power dynamics in relationships of all kinds.

So that has been in my field and on my mind for a while but just now, I realized that the three coaching clients for whom I’ve done weekly sessions in the last four days is each in the process of healing the results of sexual violence. As I said, I draw people ready to heal sexual issues of various kinds, but that realization surprised even me – three for three this week.

In an earlier session weeks ago, the client I worked with today spoke about her experiences when younger being molested by a family member. Today she shared that her daughter also experienced this but with a teacher. The mother found out after the daughter had graduated college – something like 20 years later – and blamed herself. Now she is waking up in the middle of the night with guilt that she didn’t protect her daughter, that she failed as a mother. I’m intending to write a separate post on some of what she shared with me about her experience being a parent and navigating that deep sense of guilt but for now in this post I’ll point out that sexual violence – and the need to learn the appropriate ways to gauge others’ motivations, open to trust, heal from violence, and other themes – run through her family.

There are several steps to working to heal the heart, spirit, energy field, mind, and body of the results and effects of sexual violence. As I work with clients on this process, I always bring through Djehuty or their/my Spirit Guides to illuminate the soul’s perspective on why that situation has been experienced. Once that is fully explained, various stages need to be worked through in turn in order to heal on all levels.

At present I offer energy work and reintegration of past-life selves and inner children who have been traumatized or abused. Combining a client’s birth chart with the compassionate wisdom and perspective of the Guides and Ascended Master with such energy work opens the door to healing issues with sexuality and sexual violence across time. For many of us now, there is perhaps no greater or more impactful and needed healing to be done than to understand and alter our relationships with these histories. We are being invited to inhabit our whole beings and love ourselves on all levels, even those on which others have seemed not to or have not loved us, including when they have hurt us.

It’s time, my friends, to become fully present and heal all of our knots, blocks, and bruises regarding sexuality. We cannot be whole without our sexual selves healthy, online, and present elements in our day-do-day selves.

We have just experienced a new Moon in Aries (after the Vernal Equinox), which was conjunct retrograde Mercury and Uranus also in Aries. Mercury retro in the sign of Mars has opened a door to rethinking and perhaps refeeling speedbumps and brick walls in our sexual histories. Uranus in Aries asks us to open a door to healing by taking back our power in conscious ways that honor who we truly are on all levels, not just who we are when angry or hurt. Soon Mercury will retrograde back into Pisces, inviting us to surrender constructs of mind that do not serve us including any and all guilt, shame, and victimhood. With this transit of the planet of perception, we can learn the truth and expand our awareness by merging at least a little bit more with the portion of Divine Intelligence that each of us at the soul level is.

And the Sun in Aries is now preparing to conjunct Uranus. This is an invitation to let ourselves be invigorated by freeing ourselves from whatever it is that makes us feel free, small and insignificant, and bored or unstimulated. This week brings an incredible call to free ourselves from our histories with understanding, groundedness, and compassion.
